Five Key Points

1. Senior linemen Liam Whitteaker (5-8, 285), Joe Burke (6, 245), Matt Carter (6-2, 200) and Storm Goralscyk (6, 190) are the guys in the trenches that lay the foundation for the rest of the offense and defense. Coach Jim Delaney is a blocking and tackling first kind of coach who focuses on all of the little fundamentals. Having vets like these guys up front plays well into Delaney’s game plan.
2. Senior QB Jake Liscinsky has been wreaking havoc in Morris-Sussex going on three years now. He is basically a coach on the field and can read defenses and make adjustments in the middle of his cadence.  That kind of intelligence on the field is a huge asset for this squad.
3. Coach Delaney has done a fantastic job over the last few years building a program that is consistently good year-in and year-out. Every opponent knows that when they play High Point, win or lose, the Wildcats will play a physical game.
4. Junior RB Travis Tallamy  and QB Liscinsky will both run through the trenches to grind out the tough yards.  Wearing out opponents is Delaney’s style.  But don’t be surprised if High Point passes more than the past because they have some weapons in Logan Ghysels and Grayson Sabo who are capable of spreading the field.
5. Make no bones about it, this Wildcat team is a heavy weight and should mange this schedule pretty well.  A game you won’t want to miss is in Week 3 when they host the defending state champions Newton.  But definitely clear out your calendar for late November because there is no reason this team won’t be in the playoffs.
