A frenzied mass shooting in a Bronx park on Saturday night left one man dead, another barely alive, and three others wounded, according to police.
Around 7:27 p.m., police received a complaint regarding many gunshots that occurred close to Haffen Park at Wickham and Burke Aves in Baychester. According to the police, a 32-year-old male was shot and killed in the chest, and a 31-year-old guy was injured in the back.
The two males were taken by EMS to Jacobi Medical Center, where the 31-year-old was critically ill and the 32-year-old passed away from his wounds.
A 29-year-old lady was also wounded in the back, and a 17-year-old girl was shot in the face. Both of them traveled privately to Jacobi Medical Center.
After traveling privately to Montefiore Medical Center, a 42-year-old male who had sustained a graze wound to his right arm was classified in stable condition.
According to authorities, four people were arrested in relation to the incident. On Saturday night, charges were still pending.
According to police, several guns were found at the scene.
A 24-year-old guy was shot several times in the chest across the street from the Gun Hill Road metro station at approximately 5:27 p.m., just a few hours prior to the mass shooting near Haffen Park, which is roughly two miles away.
The man was in severe condition when EMS took him to Jacobi Medical Center.
The shooting has not resulted in any arrests.
The gun violence occurs just one day after a shooting in the Bronx on Tratman Ave. between St. Peters Ave. and Overing St., which happened at around 4 p.m. on Friday, barely a block from the Pearly Gates playground in Westchester Square, injured four youths between the ages of 13 and 15.
According to authorities, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the foot, a 15-year-old boy was grazed in both legs, and a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were each hit in the left leg.
All four victims were taken to Jacobi Medical Center by EMS in stable condition.
According to 61-year-old witness Victor Carrion, there were at least five gunfire. People were fleeing. I noticed the girl lying on the ground. She was in tears. She was bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to her left leg. The other shot children fled down the street.
According to police, no one has been arrested. According to a police source, authorities are searching for two shooters who are also teens, just like the victims.
