Parisi Speed School Player of the Week: Jake McNamara – Newton

Morris Sussex Sports covers 40 schools’ sports teams that consists of about 14,000 athletes in Morris, Sussex and parts of Warren counties. Out of those 14,000 athletes, Morris Sussex Sports and Parisi Speed School honor just one athlete who does something special each week with the Parisi Speed School Player of the Week.  Go to Parisi Speed School to raise your game and become faster, bigger and stronger.  Mention “Morris Sussex Sports” and receive a FREE Speed Pass to one of their world class training sessions.

During this past week of the spring season there were a ton of fantastic performances in Morris-Sussex between lacrosse, softball, baseball, track and other sports. But all of the writers at Morris Sussex Sports felt the athlete most deserving of the Parisi Speed School Player of the Week was not actually a high school athlete. Nor was his stellar accomplishment something that was done on the field.

Morris Sussex Sports and Parisi Speed School of Morristown felt 2nd grade Jake McNamara of Newton deserved to be named Parisi Speed School Player of the Week for this past week. While he is an accomplished lacrosse player, football player and wrestler, he showed grit, resiliency and empathy off-the-field by helping his grieving town during the tragic loss of high school junior Lexi Faye. The 7-year-old led by example, along with his brother Timmy (pictured with his mom in the oval above), by opening up a lemonade stand and selling lemonade and white ribbons to raise money for the Lexi Faye Heart of Gold Scholarship Fund. Within a few short hours, the duo raised an amazing $122.

Congratulations to Jake and Timmy on on a stellar performance and for joining the Parisi Speed School Player of the Week fraternity!
