Five Key Points

1. Roxbury is always most successful when they have big horses up front in the trenches. Linemen Vin Manganella, Charles Lisa, Collin O’Shea, Nick Polivou, Shymar Norman, Belton Haig, Garrett Sloan and Julian Orama will all contribute to make up the strongest part of this team.
2. Runningback/linebacker Evan Vazquez is a playmaker and will give opponents headaches on both sides of the ball. Last year he had close to 700-yards and 6 TDs from scrimmage on offense and on defense he was all over the field on defense with 50 solo tackles. QB Nick Danna also brings in veteran leadership and did a great job spreading out the offense with his 800-yards passing in 2017.
3. Senior defensive tackle Vin Manganella is going to be a big problem for every opponent on this schedule. He’s a 6 foot, 280-pounds big man who’s very agile on his feetl. He’ll be the reason teams run plays to the other side of the field.
4. Coach Lorusso is a Morris County coaching legend taking two different teams to multiple state titles with Pequannock and Roxbury. He has over 150 career wins as head coach of Sussex Tech (3-15), Pequannock (48-16) and Roxbury(106-62). He spent his playing days under legendary Union coach Lou Retino. He then went on to be an assistant coach at Summit and Lenape Valley where he was also part of state championship teams.
5. Roxbury’s schedule is loaded with some big time opponents starting with Sparta at Week 1. The good news every W they get carries a lot of Power Points so they won’t need to go undefeated to get to the postseason dance.
